Bass player, composer.
Frederic Monino chose the electric bass at age 15, and since 1988 has devoted his talent to
jazz and improvised music, participating in various musical groups in the south
of France, such as "Siegfried Kessler
trio" and "Tony Pagano
trio". .In 1991, he was selected by Laurent
Cugny for the "Lumiere Big Band", thus furthering his experience in Paris.
He also played with the "Antoine Illouz quintet" and
participated in actress' Clementine Celarié flamenco ensemble. .In 1994, he became a member of the
"French National Jazz Orchestra" (O.N.J) under
the direction of Laurent Cugny. For the 10th anniversary of the
orchestra, he played at the "Grande Halle de La Villette" in Paris with former
conductors such as François Jeanneau, Claude Barthelemy, Denis Badault and Antoine Herve , who composed for the
occasion a work for 5 string bass and big band: "Rue des Lombard" ( refer to the
article "Guitar and Bass"). F.M. participated in the
"Montpellier and Radio-France music festival, playing with the Montpellier
Philharmonic Orchestra and the French National Jazz Orchestra.O.N.J received the
"Golden Django" award for the best French jazz orchestra. in
1997, and obtained in 1996 two special awards: "Ten Best Albums of the Year" by
Jazzman Magazine, and the "Boris Vian Academy" prize for jazz, with the album
Gifted bass player, Frédéric regularly appears in the French and
European Jazz circuit. He has multiplied his artistic collaborations as a
sideman, playing music from Mediterranean to Brazilian, traditional to
variety, improvised to contemporary, and from jazz to flamenco. His collaborations include:Jean-marc

Jaco" with: Lionel Suarez (accordéon), Stephane Huchard (batterie), François
Jeanneau (sax soprano), Thomas Depourquery (sax alto), Olivier Ker Ourio
(harmonica), Louis Winsberg (guitares), Franck Tortiller (vibraphone). Liners
